NCEED Visual Identity

Role / Creative Strategy, Creative Direction, Graphic Design

As part of my work to codify the visual identity of the National Center for the Elimination of Educational Disparities at Morgan State University, I created “support graphics” to better appeal to students and families.

The branding guidelines for Morgan State University mandate the specific look and structure of all colleges, departments and research centers, but I felt this was too institutional to emotionally connect with the students and families with whom we interact.

Original “formal” logo

Taking advantage of a provision in the Morgan guidelines that allows for “support graphics", I created the playful, Bauhaus-inspired graphic (shown at the top of the page) to strengthen connection with students and families. The color palette and form were intentionally chosen to feel welcoming, modern, and energetic—reflecting the school’s personality and making the brand more relatable across digital and in-person touchpoints.
